MLA Gregor Robertson, a “Vision” for Mayor?

Gregor Robertson and Jim Green.
Vision Vancouver's new candidate for mayor?
The one term MLA for Vancouver – Fairview has been recently spending a significant amount of his time at Vancouver City Council Chambers, supporting or opposing various Council initiatives.
He has spoken at City Hall about the Olympic Village.
He has spoken at City Hall on the City of Vancouver budgets.
He has spoken at City Hall on the South False Creek Official Development plan.
Gregor has been spending so much of his time at City Council; you might have thought he was a City Councilor rather than an MLA. Gregor must be having difficulty deciding which house he is more comfortable in, the Victoria Legislature or Vancouver City Hall? I’m not the only one noticing the MLA’s confusion. He has grabbed the attention of the movers and shakers at the Vancouver civic party, Vision Vancouver.
Vision Vancouver lost Mayor Larry Campbell as their candidate to a senate appointment in 2005 and they wound up losing the last election, with long time social activist Jim Green as their mayoral candidate. They have been searching for the right candidate, to propel them to victory at City Hall. It’s not surprising then, to see them on the recruiting trail for a high profile NDP candidate for mayor.
I've been told that Vision Vancouver is now actively recruiting the one term provincial MLA for Vancouver – Fairview, Gregor Robertson, to run as their mayoral candidate in the 2008 Vancouver civic elections. Maybe Vision Vancouver’s gracious offer will help Gregor make up his mind on which house he is more comfortable in?
Enquiring minds are waiting for his decision.
